Among Us

 Before, I would never had taken a Photo class but in these past three semesters I have grown to appreciate the medium a lot more and have tried to find ways in incorporating my love of illustration with photography. After searching on Google, I have found an artist that goes by Ninja-Jamal who takes photographs of people hanging out in parks or at events and draws Pokemon in these images. Keeping in mind the composition, contrast, and tone of the original image. In my project, Among Us, I try to emulate Jamal's work.

Kirby Triple Delxue

I picked up the newest Kirby game two weeks ago and have been glued to it for a while. Its so fun.

Stuff I did over the weekend

Mothers Day gift because I’m broke as shit. Felt like I’ve should have finished this earlier but I had to force myself to pay attention. Ignore the touchy feely stuff at the left.



 Left and Center: Saw Luke Pearson on the 6th at The Strand with my friend Julia. Was pretty good, felt kind of bad that I didn’t know much about his work before but I did find out that he story boarded two Adventure Time episodes. His book was also really good, I can say that I’m a new fan of his work.

Right: Went to a thing at my college where this lady, can’t remember her name, showed off her sculpture work in a slideshow. Should have drawn some of the stuff she shown because it was cool. I also drew the people hanging at the game room.

Working out a title

Trying to figure out a title for this mock book. Personally I like how the second one looks.

Final Project: So Far

I finished the skeleton and reduced it's size because it kind of looked out of place being half the size of the photo.

Before I decided that the ghost girl was going to be just sitting in-front of a easel but after a suggestion from the professor, I added a Picasso blue period painting to the image.

Not doing projects

Did this because I was bored of working and because I wanted to learn a new way of drawing in photoshop.

Final Project WIP: Skeleton

I keep forgetting to post this on my blog but here is some progress on one of my pictures for my final project.

Photography V Painting

When I chose Rene Magritte's Son of Man, I spent most of the weekend trying to figure out how will I contemporize this painting. My first idea was to replace the apple with a phone with Facebook or Twitter on it but the professor didn't like the idea as much, calling it to easy and simple. On a Friday morning, I saw my mother doing her usual morning prayers and thought I could use christian imagery or objects.

The one thing that I would change is the background. The painted background makes the image look disconnected in a way. Perhaps if I found an area near me that had the same or close enough look as background in "The Son of Man" then it would have looked better.
